1 - The Trip

So here it goes again! This is what I got up to in Summer after I finished my internship, I took a bus to Holland with the intention of visiting a friend in Portugal and to spend some time in Spain. I only had a vague plan which would change spontaneously with no prior warning, mainly influenced by where I had friends that were free or where people I met invited me to visit. It took about 7 weeks in total, using a combination of buses, trains and hitchiking, flying back from Alicante/Valencia (the blue arrow on the map) when time, money and any life left in me ran out.

3: Donostia, Euskadi / San Sebastian, Spain

Donostia/San Sebastian was a crazy place. From the guy who gave me a lift into the city and told me that 'the pirates would leave the port at 5' on their own handmade makeshift pirate boats I knew it was going to be a good time. And with my two nights of accomodation reserved upon arrival I ended up staying an entire week and enjoying their week long carnival that I had no idea about- la semana grande, the big week. Donostia Abordatu! San Sebastian overboard!
